Frequently asked questions
The most common questions we get from our clients
Be sure to schedule other beauty treatments before your tanning appointment (nails, massages, hair, lashes etc.). Your tanning appointment is usually best to be done last on your list.
I love to help you prepare for the best spray tan possible! Please Text/Call 310497-1841 if you have any unanswered questions/concerns before the day of your appointment.
For mobile appointments, we are usually in and out in less than 30 minutes. In salon appointments, about 15 minutes.
*For Tan-Line Blending and Bridal Tans, please allow a little extra time:
Tan lines cannot always be completely blended perfectly depending, but there are steps we can take to blend/balance as evenly as possible, and this may take a little extra time.
Although we perform every tan as if it is for a major event/special occasion, we like to spend a little extra time on our Brides. We understand how hectic the days leading up can get, and want you to be able to relax, not feel rushed, and enjoy these little special moments!
Lol, no.
My favorite part is seeing the beautiful, natural, and varying, final shade results, tailored to each individual.
Everyone’s starting shade is different. If you are on the fairer side, you can completely request “dark” ”, but know that your ‘dark’ request is not going to be as dark as an olive toned persons request for ‘dark’.
It will be a gorgeous ‘dark’ shade for you, so that you still look like your lovely self, and in no way take on a fake looking tone.
7-10+ days if you closely follow prep and aftercare provided.
Tan Care
The night before appointment (or at least 8-10hrs before): Shower, shave, and exfoliate very well. (Please do not exfoliate with any oil based scrubs, as oil residue can act as a barrier.). If your skin is on the dryer side apply a light moisturizer/lotion.
Spray tans love a freshly exfoliated, and moisturized layer of skin. This will ensure an even, and longer lasting tan.
*Please note that this should be applied immediately after shower, and at least 8-10hrs prior to your appointment to avoid reverse effects.
- you can NOT spray over a sunburn, be sure to wear sunscreen leading up to. Spraying over even a subtle, pink burn, can cause major peeling. If you’ve experienced a bad sun burn (within 2-3 weeks before) you should not spray tan
- No shower, products, or shaving within 8hrs-10hrs before your spray tan, this can cause your tan to “freckle”, not absorb properly, and or cause skin irritation.
- Avoid DOVE brand/creamy based soaps.
Be sure to wear or bring loose, dark, breathable clothing that you can change into after your spray tan.
(loose long maxi dress, big t-shirt/ loose pants etc.)
First rinse will be just a warm water rinse. With no soap; gently rub all over with your hands until water rinses clear. (should take about 2-3 minutes). Gently pat dry.
After your rinse, your tan will develop slowly and darken for about 24hrs.
*It’s important not to use any lotion/products for at least 8 hrs after
If after your first rinse you see any streaks or uneven areas, don’t worry; It’s just the temporary bronzers that have not rinsed completely away just yet. You can jump back in and gently rub the area again.
After 24hrs you can take your first “real” shower with soap. (Paraben free and sulfate free body washes are suggested. Avoid Dove/creamy based body wash, as they can strip, streak, and/or discolor tan.)
After your first soapy shower it’s important to start applying lotion/moisturizer twice daily (easy recommendations that you can find almost anywhere: AVEENO, and Hempz). Doing this will promote slow/even fading, and help to avoid a scaly looking tan.
After about 2 days your tan will be even better. Evened out, completely developed, and look its best! This just the beginning! Your tan should last an average of 7-10+ days if you closely follow prep and aftercare provided above and below.
Drink lots of water; Keep showers short, not too hot, and always gently pat dry.
Chlorine in pools and jacuzzi can quickly fade/ get rid of your tan. Avoid perfumes and harsh oils like mineral oil/baby oil.
